I was recently invited down to the Trafford Centre in Manchester for their Shoetopia event, which promised to give me an insight into the psychology of shoes. I have to admit, I was slightly sceptical at first, but once the lovely Kate Nightingale from Style Psychology started her presentation, I found myself identifying with a few of the points she made.
Apparently thick soles & heels can mean a woman that is reserved, individualist, powerful and strong… not just a girl who is too unstable to walk in stiletto heels like myself! A much better explanation for my choice of shoes.
We sipped on Skinny Champagne, which is sugar-free, and inhaled (yes, really) some shoe-themed cupcakes from Zara Cakes. I also took home a really generous goody bag from the lovely team at intu Trafford Centre, full of Hotel Chocolat choccies, sweeties, John Lewis espresso cup & saucer and even a pair of Vans. I can’t believe I don’t have a photo to show you guys! Awful blogger.
The event came to a finish after a highly competitive quiz about shoes, with the grand prize of a pair of red Louboutins… lego style. Sally from Sweetie Sal went home with them in the end, lucky girl!
A big thank you to the intu Trafford Centre team for inviting me down!
